Test Conditions, Methods and Performance

1. Test conditions

All tests were conducted at temperature of 25 ° C, humidity of 25% ~85%, and atmospheric pressure of 86 kPa~106 kPa unless otherwise specified.

2.Measuring instruments

  •     Voltage: DC voltmeter of accuracy ≥0.5,inner resistance≥ 1kΩ / V;
  •    Current: DC meter of accuracy≥0.5;
  •    Temperature: thermometer of appropriate range;the scale value should not be greater than 1℃;
  •    Time: Timing meter to show hour, minute, and second,with ± 1% accuracy

3. Standard charging

Charge with a DC power supply (switching power supply) at voltage of 5.0V, 20C (A) constant current until the current down to 1A.

4. Standard discharge

After charging in accordance with (3.3), discharge at 0.9 (A) current till cutoff.

5. Battery capacity

Discharge in accordance with (3.4), and record discharge time(h), energy (Wh) = power (W) * discharge time (h).

7. Environmental Performance


Test Conditions


Constant Temperature & Constant Heat Experiment

Full charge the battery in accordance with (3.3) and then store it open-circuit at the conditions of temperature of 40 ℃ ± 2 ℃, relative humidity 90 ~ 95%  for 48 hours;

Then return to the temperature condition of 20 ℃ ± 5 ℃, relative humidity of 25% to~ 85%

Discharge  in accordance with (3.4)

The battery pack has no obvious deformation, corrosion, smoke or explosion; discharge capacity is greater than 80% of rated.

Temperature Impact

After the battery pack is charged as required by 3.3,place it open-circuited in the oven;

1) Keep it at -40 ℃ ± 2 ℃ low temperature for 120min;

2) Then raised till 75 ° C ± 2 ° C at a rate of 10 ° C / min;

3) Maintain 75 ℃ ± 2 ℃ high temperature for 120min;

4) Drop the temperature till -40 ° C ± 2 ° C at a rate of 10 ° C / min

Repeat the cycle for 4 times,and then restore to room temperature;

remove the battery pack from the oven, standby at 25 ℃ for  120min till the lithium battery return to room temperature.

No deformation, nor cracking, nor leakage ;

Open circuit voltage, charge capacity are in line with the product specifications, and the battery can still be normally charged and discharged.

8.Safety Tests


Test Instructions


Crush Test

The battery pack is charged as required by 3.3 ;

placed between the two extruded surfaces; 

gradually increasing the pressure at 2KN;

keep for 1min.

Acupuncture Test

Fully charge the battery pack according to the provisions of 3.3; 

Place the thermocouple in the battery pack;

Acupuncture through the center of battery pack with a Ф5 stainless steel needle at a speed of 20-40mm / s.

No fire,no explosion,no leakage 

Short-Circuit Test

After the battery pack is charged in accordance of 3.3;

Keep for 1 h at 20 ° C ± 5 ° C;

Short-circuit the battery pack for 10min ( external resistance <10mΩ).

No fire,no explosion,no leakage 

Drop Test

After standard charging according to 3.3,the battery pack is kept in condition of 20 ° C ± 5 ° C for 1 h; and free fall the battery  from a height of 1.5m to the wooden floor.

No fire,no explosion,no leakage 

Over Charge Test

Remove BMS,charge the battery pack at  10A / 30V CC CV until one of the single cells voltage is higher than 5V at 20 ℃ ± 5 ℃ ambient temperature.

No fire,no explosion,no leakage 

Over Discharge Test

Remove BMS, discharge the battery pack at 0.5C (60A) current till the voltage drops to 0V at 20 ℃ ± 5 ℃ ambient temperature.

No fire,no explosion,no leakage 

 Storage, maintenance and transportation

1 Storage

When the battery pack is to be stored for a long time, charge the battery pack to about 50% of SOC (charging about 2 hours at 30A CC after discharging), and place it in a clean, dry and ventilated place, avoid of contact with corrosive substances, away from fire and heat. Charge/discharge cycle the battery pack every three months.

2 Transportation

The battery pack should be packed with care before transport. Truck, trains, ships, airplanes and other means of transport are permitted for transportation of the battery packs.The cargo should be prevented from severe vibration, shock or squeeze,and sheltered from sun and rain during transportation.

3 Maintenance

  • The recommended storage SOC is 40%-60% of rated;
  • It is recommended to charge (at 10A for2 hours ) the battery pack every 6 months for long time storage;
  • Please do not re-assemble the battery pack without the manufacturer’s guidance during maintenance in case of performance deterioration;
  • Please do not disassemble the battery pack; and dissection of the cells is strongly forbidden.

Usage Precautions

1 Do not reverse the polarity to prevent short circuit;

2 Do not put the battery pack into water or soak it;

3 Do not charge the battery pack in hot conditions; Do not use or store batteries near heat sources such as fire or heaters;

4 Do not use nails or other sharp objects to pierce the battery pack;hammering or stamping on the battery packs is prohibited.

5 It is forbidden to disassemble the battery packs or cells in any way;

6 If any anomaly should occur to the battery pack such as odor spreading, heat, deformation, discoloration , remove the battery pack immediately from the appliance or charger, and contact the manufacturer;

7 If the electrolyte of battery leaks accidentally and happens to splash into the eyes, do not wipe, but immediately rinse them with water instead, and seek medical assistance in a timely manner for serious cases.

8 Ambient temperature will affect the discharge capacity. If the ambient temperature exceeds the standard environment range(25 ℃ ± 5 ℃), the discharge capacity will be slightly reduced.
