What should you do when your lithium battery doesn’t work?
The first thing is to contact your lithium battery supplier for trouble shooting, return and repairing or for their professional assistance and guidance for operation. Remember that dismantling or disassembling any battery under no professional guidance is dangerous.
The following are steps for simple problem shooting:
Attention:
1.Avoid short-circuiting the battery under any circumstances, as even a minor short-circuit may cause damage to the batteries.
2.Do not disassemble or dismantle the battery pack unless under the supplier’s professional guidance.
Tools: multimeter, screwdriver
Steps:
1. Measure whether the voltage of charge and discharge terminals of the battery pack is the same. If not, the problem may be with the BMS (Battery Management System), and then check whether the BMS and its key components like Mosfet is intact or not.
2.Spot the joint of each series of cells of the battery pack and measure the voltage. Normally, the voltage of each series should be the same. If series of obviously higher or lower voltage is detected, this series of cells probably have such problems as internal short circuit, pseudo soldering or high self-discharge rate.
3. If the voltage of each series of cells is in consistency with each other, please measure the total output voltage of the BMS to check whether it equals the sum of each series’ voltage. If not, the BMS is faulty.
