As a new energy vehicles, low-speed electric vehicles has been increased rapidly ,such as city-car,tuck tuck.

Traditionally these vehicles are powered by lead acid batteries, Bulky and heavy, lead acid batteries are a limiting factor in vehicle design.

  1. Weight: Lithium-ion batteries are one-third the weight of lead acid batteries.
  2. Efficiency: Lithium-ion batteries are nearly 100% efficient in both charge and discharge, allowing for the same amp hours both in and out. Lead acid batteries’ inefficiency leads to a loss of 15 amps while charging and rapid discharging drops voltage quickly and reduces the batteries’ capacity.
  3. Discharge: li ion batteries are discharged 100% versus less than 80% for lead acid.
  4. Cycle Life: Rechargeable lithium-ion batteries(Lifepo4)cycle life 2000 times(100 DOD till 80 of initial capacity at 0.2c rate) or more compared to just 400-500 cycles in lead acid.
  5. Cost: Despite the higher upfront cost of lithium-ion batteries, the true cost of ownership is far less than lead acid when considering life span and performance.
  6. Environmental Impact: Lithium-ion batteries are a much cleaner technology and are safer for the environment.

And we KOK Li-ion batteries are not also including above advantages, also we specifically designed Battery management system that can protect and monitor battery pack to offer a significantly longer battery life.

The BMS functions as on-line monitoring and control of lithium ion battery packs(lithium iron phosphate, lithium titanate, NCM,etc.)in terms of voltage,current,temperature control and balancing; transmit signal to the controller of the vehicle and “obey” the instruction of the controller.

This BMS has 2 channels of external CAN, one for vehicle communication and diagnosis, the other for charger communication;and 1 channel of internal CAN,connected with the host to facilitate system debugging and program function upgrade. CANbus provides info to display of voltage, current, temperature, SOC, insulation etc. according to the protocol.

This program adopts one CAN channel for charger communication and management of the fast charge process; and the other CAN channel for charger and controller communication,to monitor the vehicle status and delivery and management of slow charge process.

Lithium batteries deliver higher-quality performance in a safer, longer-lasting package.These many advantages give off-road and low-speed vehicle manufacturers room to explore new features.
